Manitoba Prosthetic and Orthotic Program
MB P&O Program
A Manitoba Health ancillary program that provides prosthetic and orthotic devices and services to eligible Manitoba residents. Covered items include limb prosthetic devices and services, and limb and spinal orthotic devices and services. No deductible is required. One device every two years can generally be claimed unless there has been a medically diagnosed change.
Useful Tips for Applying
Coverage is for basic prosthetic and orthotic needs; devices for specific activities beyond the basic item may not be covered. If another provincial or federal program covers the cost, this program does not pay.
Who May Qualify
Manitoba residents who require prosthetic or orthotic services, as prescribed by a medical practitioner, and do not have the costs paid through other provincial or federal programs.
Required Documents
A prescription from a medical practitioner; the prosthetic or orthotic provider submits a claim form to Manitoba Health.
How to Apply
Visit a prosthetic or orthotic provider registered with Manitoba Health; the provider prepares the device and submits the claim form. Confirm coverage and the claim process with your provider and Manitoba Health's ancillary programs.

Manitoba Seniors Hearing Aid Program
A Manitoba government grant that provides eligible seniors with up to $2,000 toward the purchase of hearing aids, including the hearing assessment and fitting. One claim of up to $2,000 per person can be made every 5 years. Batteries, repairs, ear mold replacements, and loss or damage replacement costs are not eligible. If you have private insurance that covers hearing aids, it pays first and the amount is deducted from the $2,000 maximum.
