A refundable provincial tax credit for qualifying home renovations that improve accessibility or help a senior or a person with a disability live at home.
Useful Tips for Applying
You can receive up to $3,750 on $25,000 of expenses (2026). Both seniors and people with disabilities qualify, and the credit is refundable.
Who May Qualify
BC seniors 65 and over, persons with a disability, or someone supporting them, who paid for qualifying renovations to a home they live in.
Required Documents
Receipts and invoices for the renovation work, proof of eligibility, and a claim on the BC income tax return.
How to Apply
Claim the credit on your BC income tax return (Form BC479). Keep your receipts.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Not keeping detailed receipts. Doing renovations to a home you do not live in, which is not eligible.
