Last reviewed: August 2026

Useful Tips for Applying

Services are tailored to your family's needs through an individualized service plan. There is no financial test for eligibility — eligibility is based on the disability.

Who May Qualify

Families with a child under 18 who has a confirmed disability and who live in Alberta.

Required Documents

Documentation of the child's disability (a medical or specialist assessment), proof of Alberta residency, and the FSCD application.

How to Apply

Contact your local FSCD office or a Children's Services office to begin the intake process and eligibility assessment.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Assuming you need to be low-income (you do not). Waiting for a crisis to apply — intake takes time.

Where to Get Help

Your local FSCD office, or an autism or disability advocacy organization.
