Disability Related Employment Supports (DRES) is a Government of Alberta program that provides funding for supports and services to help Albertans overcome disability-related barriers to employment or education. Supports include assistive devices and technology, ASL interpreting and captioning, communication and hearing devices for work, workplace access and modification, and vehicle modifications for work-related purposes.

Job search supports, workplace supports (short-term, to transition into or maintain employment), and education supports. Funded examples: assistive devices/equipment/technology (specialized software, magnifiers, assistive listening devices), ASL interpreting and captioning, academic aides/note-takers, communication/hearing devices for work, workplace access/modification, vehicle modifications for work.

Who is eligible

Alberta residents 16 years of age or older who are legally entitled to work or train in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or Convention Refugee), employed or employment-destined, with a documented, permanent or long-term disability that creates a barrier to education, training and/or employment.

Referral requirements

Apply through your nearest Alberta Supports Centre.
