Taproot Community Support Services

Taproot Community Support Services (formerly WJS Canada) is a CARF-accredited, employee-owned Canadian social services organization providing a range of disability and community support services, including supports for people with diverse abilities, family and community supports, specialized mental health and trauma services, acquired brain injury (ABI) services, Family Resource Centres, and Indigenous culturally-based programs (Spirit of Our Youth). Taproot operates in communities across Alberta, including Fort McMurray.

NEAFAN — North East Alberta FASD Network

NEAFAN (North East Alberta Fetal Alcohol Network) is one of twelve FASD Service Networks in Alberta, set up to enhance FASD services and supports for those affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and their caregivers. NEAFAN operates within the Wood Buffalo Municipal Area including Fort McMurray and surrounding communities.

RMWB Specialized Transit

RMWB Specialized Transit (formerly SMART Bus — Special Mobility Assistance Required Transportation) is the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo's application-based, curb-to-curb shared transit service for eligible residents with mobility challenges who are unable to use conventional transit. It is now part of the RMWB Transit On Demand platform but remains a distinct, eligibility-gated program. It is not the same as the general Transit On Demand service.
